When I first started crocheting I enjoyed making amigurumi mainly. I found the rhythm and counting of the stitches was really beneficial for mindfulness, which I needed at the time.
I enjoyed being able to pick up a pattern, hook and yarn and watching my work come together to create a cute little creature.

Initially, I would give my makes to my daughters who would often request something (usually very specific!) that they would like me to make. I think this really helped me to practice and learn lots of different stitches and techniques along the way.
At the end of 2022 I made all of the squares for a blanket that I’d seen in a crochet magazine. Spent hours making them. And then they sat in a bag for ages until last year when I decided that I was going to put them all together and finish the blanket! I’d left it so long because I wasn’t entirely sure how to join the squares and hadn’t yet learnt the join as you go technique (absolute game changer I now know!).

After this, a friend introduced me to crochet along blankets and that was it! I was absolutely hooked and I’ve now made 3 crochet along blankets and more in the last year!

These are some of the blankets I have made recently. I’ve loved making them all and they are all massive which will be great when autumn/winter comes around again. 🍁❄️
This year I have decided that I am going to believe in myself and design a blanket of my own and publish the pattern! Watch this space!
